In recent years African entrepreneurs and corporations have been making big moves to embrace more environmentally friendly business practices on the continent, whether its solar panels or geothermal prospecting. The latest green venture is produced by Ugandan firm Kiira Motors, which just launched Africa’s first solar-powered bus.
“In Uganda, we have non-stop sun,” says Kiira Motors CEO Paul Isaac Musasizi to CNN. “No other countries manufacturing vehicles are on the equator like Uganda. We should celebrate that, and make a business out of it.”
